The Basilica does not have a parking lot or a private garage, however, there are several parking garages and lots within walking distance of the Basilica, as well as street parking if available. Click here to go directly to the Baltimore City Parking Authority Parking Garages webpage, where downloadable parking maps of Baltimore are available.
The closest parking garage is the Franklin Street Garage, which is located one block north of the Basilica, on Franklin Street between Cathedral and Charles Streets. The hourly rate during the week starts at $4, with a maximum daily charge of $10. On the weekend, the charge is $4 for the day. Free parking is available for Sunday morning Masses ONLY from 7:30am until Noon. For more information about the garage, please call 410-625-9603.
If you are arriving by motor coach with a tour group, the bus should stop across the street from the Basilica, and drop you off in front of the Enoch Pratt Library, at 400 Cathedral Street. The driver will then need to find a spot to park the bus. Please DO NOT allow the driver to stop in the lane closest to the Basilica to disembark passengers into the traffic lane; this is of course highly dangerous, and also illegal.
The Charm City Circulator is a fleet of 21 free shuttles that travel three routes in Baltimore City. The Basilica is conveniently located on the Purple Route’s Charles Street Line – take the Pleasant or Hamiliton Street stops and walk one block to the Basilica, located on Cathedral Street.
