Third Sunday Solemn Vespers at the Basilica of the Assumption continues on Sunday, April 16th, at 5:00PM. The Basilica Schola Cantorum will sing a prelude and lead the singing of the psalmody and Magnificat during the liturgy. Immediately following Vespers will be a lecture entitled "Christ, Eucharist, and Church" given by Fr. Robert P. Imbelli, a priest of the Archdiocese of New York and author of Rekindling the Christic Imagination.
About Fr. Robert Imbelli
Fr. Robert P. Imbelli, a priest of the Archdiocese of New York, studied in Rome during the years of the Second Vatican Council and was ordained there in 1965. After parish ministry in New York, he obtained his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Yale University.
He has taught theology at the New York Archdiocesan Seminary and at the Maryknoll School of Theology; and has been a visiting lecturer at Princeton Theological Seminary and Fordham University.
Father Imbelli is the author of Rekindling the Christic Imagination and an associate professor emeritus of theology at Boston College.
