The doctrine of transubstantiation is a cornerstone of Catholic faith in Christ's real eucharistic presence. It is also widely misunderstood and misrepresented by both its supporters and its critics. Join Dr. Brett Salkeld, author of Transubstantiation: Theology, History and Christian Unity, to learn about how the history of the doctrine of transubstantiation can help us all to appreciate its deep meaning for our own Eucharistic faith and its surprising ecumenical potential. Dr. Brett Salkeld is Archdiocesan Theologian for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Regina, Saskatchewan. He is the author of several books, most recently, Educating For Eternity: A Teacher's Companion for Making Every Class Catholic, a monthly columnist for Our Sunday Visitor (check out his column, Two Wings), and weekly podcaster (his podcast, with Deacon Eric Gurash, Thinking Faith! has been released every Tuesday since late 2016).
